Exhibition « Sous le Soleil des Savoir-faire – Les maitres d’art à Versailles »

Fondation Rémy Cointreau is proud to announce its partnership with the exhibition “Sous le soleil des Savoir-Faire – Les Maîtres d’Art à Versailles “, held at the Espace Richaud from 19 June to 22 September 2024. With the Olympic Games this summer, this exhibition, co-produced with the Association des Ateliers des Maîtres d’art et de leurs Élèves (Master of art and their students) and curated by Yves Sabourin, highlights the rich heritage of French arts and crafts.

Through a hundred of creations produced by thirty-three Masters of Art or their students, Sous le soleil des Savoir-Faire reveals the diversity and excellence of know-how, from featherwork and porcelain to fine embroidery and cabinetmaking.

Discover a wide selection of unique pieces, including a sceptre with embroidered flowers, a felt coat in homage to Paul Poiret, and plans of Facteur Cheval’s Ideal Palace transcribed in stained glass. Each piece embodies an exceptional heritage of French arts and crafts from Louis XIV to nowadays. Among them you will find the work of some Foundation laureates, including Ateliers Loire, François Simon-Fustier, Annie Bocel, Liza Bergara and Sylvie Deschamps…

Versailles’ history is inseparable from the art of craftsmanship, making it a unique location for this event. It illustrates the passion of these Master of Art and their students, guardians of a precious know-how passing down from generation to generation…

But what about tomorrow? While some methods, gestures and tools have barely evolved since their creation, today’s craftsmen are using new technologies to push back the limits of materials.

By supporting this exhibition, the Fondation Rémy Cointreau is renewing, today and tomorrow, its commitment to the preservation of our heritage and the transmission of arts and crafts.
