Creation of the Maison Talents & Violon’celles

The Fondation Rémy Cointreau supports the Talents et Violon’celles Association for the creation of the Maison Talents & Violon’celles in Paris.

Created in 2010, the Talents & Violon’celles association’s mission consists in safeguarding, conserving, enhancing and enriching the musical and cultural heritage of the French school of string quartet instruments.

The association’s objective is to allow the talented expressions of young musicians of the string quartet through:

• the loan of high-end instruments for indefinite periods,
• the management of old instruments loaned by their owners,
• the organization of master classes,
• but also, through the support of the violin making and the French archery.

For several years, Talents & Violon’celles sought a place to develop new consistent actions promoting certain values of the association such as: transmission, excellence and sharing; in perfect harmony with the values of the Fondation Rémy Cointreau, whose mission is the promotion and transmission of excellence in their expertise.

Therefore, the Fondation Rémy Cointreau is pleased to be associated with the Talents & Violon’celles association, allowing the creation and outreach of the Maison Talents & Violon’celles which will welcome different exceptional craftspersons.

The Maison Talents & Violon’celles project is a coworking space encompassing the string quartet instruments and which combines 3 functions:

• A workshop to welcome luthiers and bow makers who are well-established and forthcoming ones,
• A multi-purpose room for musicians and especially young talents, available for lessons, training, rehearsals, master classes…
• The headquarters of the association to manage the activities, to welcome the sponsors and friends of Talents & Violon’celles.

This house aims to be a place of exchange, open to the public passing by, or during customer events / meetings or open house events. The violinmaking / archery workshops are designed to be visible from the rue de Rome, the central place of French violinmaking.

A selection committee will be created to select the luthier or bow maker in residence at the Maison Talents & Violon’celles workshop based on the relevance of their projects and skills. It will be made up of members of the Talents & Violon’celles artistic committee, representatives of the profession including Mrs. Sandrine Raffin, bow maker supported by the Fondation Rémy Cointreau, and a representative of the Fondation Rémy Cointreau, Mrs. Caroline Martin-Rilhac.
