This year, the press talks about the sector of fine crafts and its professionals. In fact, the fine crafts and the craftsmen are put in highlights in the French media this year, with a focus on handicrafts and on all pieces made with a real and a local savoir-faire, in its natural state. Caroline Martin-Rilhac, delegate general of Fondation Rémy Cointreau, was asked by the press for mentioning these thematics and also the action and the implication of the foundation for exceptional know-how.
Geste/s is a new magazine dedicated to fine crafts, exceptional know-how and contemporary creation. Created by Yamina Benaï and Emmanuel Rubin, this magazine is a real support of references.
As a real fine crafts catalogue, it allows the highlights of every profession and every actor of this sector, all illustrated by representative pictures. For this first issue of the magazine, Spring 2022, an article was dedicated to patronage in fine crafts. For that, Caroline Martin-Rilhac was interviewed in order to place the Fondation Rémy Cointreau in this ecosystem. She explained the role of private foundations and the importance of their action about transmission in order to assure the durability of the fine crafts trades.
The Fondation Rémy Cointreau is in partnership with the association Talents et Violon’celles. Thanks to this partnership, the Maisons Talents et Violon’celles was created in 2020. It is a co-working space opened in Paris, rue de Rome. For this Opus 2022, Caroline Martin-Rilhac mentionned the strong link between the two entities and their common project.
This partnership has multiple missions. There is the transmission of the lute-making techniques, the research and the innovation of this exceptional know-how. Furthermore, it is a place for musicians where they can find mutual aid and be a part of a community. This place is dynamic and full of life. It is a welcoming ecosystem with values similar to Fondation Rémy Cointreau.
