The Remy Cointreau Group has changed its home office address and it has been the opportunity for the eponym Foundation to organise an exhibition of the art pieces of its laureates in this new place.
Created in 2017, the Fondation Rémy Cointreau has supported around thirty exceptional craftsmen with the objective to follow them in the long term. As well, the idea of this exhibition has appeared as an evident response to the valorisation of the exceptional know-how. Our vocation is about encouraging the transmission of the savoir-faire. It is also about studying, supporting and promoting the fine crafts and reinforcing their visibility.
Each piece illustrates the master of a unique trade which is the heritage of a complex know-how. It is described by the master of the handicrafts, the techniques, and the work of a material with an artistic point of view.
Exhibiting those art pieces is the fulfilment of our mission. For this first edition, a few craftsmen are exposed. Among them, we count William Amor, Manon Bouvier, Eve George, Valentine Huyghues Despointes, Steven Leprizé, Mona Oren and Lucile Viaud.
William Amor is a forsaken materials ennobler. Artist and self-taught creator, two of his pieces are exposed at Rémy Cointreau Group. They represent two flowers realised with plastic bottle tinted and sculpted.
Manon Bouvier is specialized in straw marquetry. Her piece SiOII is made of straw and concrete. It ornaments the walls of the office, such as the pieces of Steven Leprizé, Wonsole and Target. Cabinetmaker and researcher, he goes beyond the traditional methods in order to experiment the wood in the contemporary furniture.
Lucile Viaud, a seaweed glassmaker, works in the research and precisely in the transformation of sea products. With her scientific experiences, she creates great collections for her brand Ostraco. Two of her creations are at Rémy Cointreau Group. Eve George is also specialized in the glass know-how. With her technique of the glassblowing with a cane, she creates interior object collections. One of the vase of Collection Moire is exhibited.
Eve George est également spécialisée dans le verre. Grâce à la technique du soufflage à la canne, elle réalise des collections d’objets d’intérieur dont vous pourrez voir un vase de sa Collection Moire.
Fishing was created by Valentine Huyghues Despointes. Specialized in leatherworking, she creates with a personal and poetic imagination. Finally, Mona Oren also has her own style. She works with different materials and techniques and realises art pieces on paper, plaster and latex. With the wax, she composes tulip fields but also cabbages. One of those cabbages is exhibit in our Parisian office.
Before closing 2023, I would like to share with you who the Fondation Rémy Cointreau has been able to support this year ...
In the 11th Arrondissement of Paris, Bernard Mauffret, a contemporary cabinetmaker designer, introduces us to his world in Episode 8 of our video-portrait series on the Foundation’s artisans.
