Ateliers d’Art de France

Ateliers d’Art de France trade union represents more than 6,000 craftspeople, crafts artists and art manufacturers, including 95 associations. Its main objective is to defend and promote art and craft professionals, while contributing to the economic development of their workshops. As defender of craftspeople, the syndicate initiates several initiatives to highlight their work, including the Ateliers d’Art de France competition.

Ateliers d’Art de France competition

Since 2012, the Ateliers d’Art de France competition has been dedicated to discover talent in France, highlighting the diversity, vitality, and creativity of the crafts associated to specific territories. It nominates and supports regional and national laureates in the two categories, celebrating craftsmanship excellence and artistic expression.

The Heritage category is dedicated to professionals who present an original or a restored work of conservation or creation. It requires a perfect knowledge of the material, as well as traditional skills to transform it.

The Creation category is addressed to professionals who present an original work of art, with or without a utilitarian purpose. It must be the result of a process of working with materials that requires the mastery of one or more skills based on an artistic approach.

The regional winners were chosen by a panel of experts reunited in July 2023. More than 120 winners have already benefited from this support, giving them visibility both in the French territory.

The two national winners were selected among the regional winners. Thanks to this pize they will have the opportunity to exhibit in major international trade fairs such as MAISON&OBJET and the Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel.
