Eve George is a glassblower. She was graduated from Ecole Boulle and ENSCI – Les Ateliers. Her interest in glass began in 2012 during an immersion at the Centre International d’Art Verriers of Meisenthal. This experience encouraged her to pursue her studies in glassblowing with a cane at CERFAV.
A complementary training as a designer-creator in fine crafts enabled her to open Atelier George in August 2017 with her partner Laurent Fichot. Together, they carry out experimental research and create one-of-a-kind or limited-edition piece of art for private individuals or interior designers.
2023 – Resident at the Villa Albertine.
2021 – Prix Mathias, Matières Libres, 2nd Prize; Mondes Nouveaux, Commande publique, Ministère de la Culture, Laureate; Académie des savoir-faire “Le Verre”, Fondation Hermès, Laureate.
2019 – Prix Jeune Talent, Conseil départemental de la Côte d’Or.
2018 – Winner of the Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d’Art.
Eve George’s studio is a laboratory she calls “L’Atelier Expérimental”. Here, she carries out artistic and design research projects involving glass and the history of techniques. All her personal research feeds into the other activities of her studio, which focus on “the multiple”, molding and digital techniques (digital and parametric modeling, 3D printing, etc.).
Eve George is passionate about passing on her passion. She regularly welcomes trainees to her workshop and teaches in several universities. At CERFAV, she teaches the “glass creator” course on the theme of entrepreneurship and gives courses at the FabLab about digital technology. She also took part in a think-tank led by EY and Julhiet Sterwen on the promotion of the glassmaking professions and the transmission of fine crafts as a vector of economic and territorial transformation.
Fondation Rémy Cointreau has supported Eve George in 2020. It has helped her acquire the tools she needed to create “cold glass”.
